Fragile
A brittle fragment of existence.
Stay as you are.
To be enshrouded in violent power and glory,
Engulfed in riches, material virtue,
Knowledge breeding wisdom,
Physical expertise providing mortal reality,
Stay as you are.
Hush, hush, now don't you cry
Of the shards of conflict
The pieces that never seem to fit together.
Discordant notes!
Stay as you are.
Snapped, twisted and ripped asunder.
Spun in a whilrwind of chaos,
World collapsing in on itself,
the stars of night winking goodbye,
Stay as you are. Stay as you are.
A brittle fragment of existence.
Stay as you are.
Three Glasses
Three empty glasses on a table.
One a common, practical pint size.
One of sophisticated, delicate elegance,
One a simple, nondescript container.
I can barely imagine the conversation.
It brings a smileto my lips though,
That three, completely different perspectives,
Can unite, if but for a while, as equals.
All empty and gone now.
Yet, still,
A glorious moment!
