A Gathering Of Wings

Genre: Poetry

Sample Poem: Remnants

There it is again, I reflect,
This incessant beating in my head!
A deep resonance of rhythm,
It could be my mind trying to escape -
From the confines of my physical dominion.

To freedom and the purity of open air,
Where particles drift by without care,
Entwining themselves into unassuming lines,
Matter fusing itself together in whirls -
Shapes and coloured lights of the divine.

Perhaps, there, I will feel whole,
Part of the proper journey of the soul,
Mixing with the beauty of nature's newborn,
Transcending all that hurt gone before -
Into something new, wholesome, not torn.

Because here in my head, thudding,
Are the remnants of decay and ruin,
Beating like a distant drum between my ears,
Memory of painful sleepless nights -
A man, introverted, deep and full of fright.

Let it go away, this folly of cursed thoughts,
For they are just negative energy pulses, fraught,
Conjured up by moments of malcontent,
A lack of harmony and spiritual guide -
Please, return to me, my compassionate scent.
