Next Course Date: To be confirmed
This course is designed for more experienced mindfulness practitioners and for those who have already completed the 10 week Zen Mindfulness course or the 6 week Mindfulness Survival Toolkit course who want to further their knowledge and practice.
The deepening circle is geared to deepen your mindful practice and set you on the Path to Zen. It is for those who have taken mindfulness to their hearts; practising it daily and are committed to their spiritual journey.
NOTE: Due to Coronavirus, this course will currently run online, which means the mindful walking/tea ceremony elements will not be included in the course, and each week will run for just 1 hour as opposed to the normal 2 hours. The cost is therefore reduced to £50 for the six weeks.
Week 1: Silence. We will discuss aspects of silence, what it can provide and what obstacles we have that stop us from dwelling in silence. This is followed by a 30 minute silent meditation. We follow this with an hour of silent mindful walking.
Week 2: Kindness. We will discuss aspects of kindness, what it can provide and how to awaken our opening hearts to compassion for all. This is followed by a 30 minute loving-kindness meditation. We follow this with a mindful tea ceremony.
Week 3: Open Heart Intentions. We will discuss aspects of the open heart, including gratitude and inter-connectedness. This is followed by a 30 minute silent meditation. We follow this with an hour of mindful walking where we contemplate inter-connectedness.
Week 4: Emptiness. We will discuss aspects of emptiness, what it means to have ‘no self’ and be ‘no body’. This is followed by a 30 minute ‘choiceless awareness’ meditation, and then an hour of mindful walking.
Week 5: Aimlessness. We will discuss aspects of aimlessness, what it means to ‘not strive’ and to find ‘the middle way’ between attachment and aversion. This is followed by a 30 minute silent meditation, finishing with a solo ‘alone together’ mindful walk.
Week 6: Impermanence. We will discuss aspects of impermanence, including karma, living life fully and our fear of death. We will follow this with a 30 minute silent meditation, finishing with a mindful tea ceremony and a short mindful walk in nature.
