A 6 week course on mindfulness, suitable for beginners.

This course is a response to the current climate. We’re living in challenging times, with global crises and mental/physical well-being ever more of a struggle. How do we cope with what is happening in the world? How do we create resilience in ourselves to be able to weather the storms; to be able to find happiness in our lives?
This 6 week course is designed to help individuals find this resilience and happiness by embracing the present moment and practising mindfulness.
Week 1: Introduction to mindfulness and 4 simple practices to start you off on your journey;
Week 2: How our bodies respond to stress and how to cope with increased emotions such as anxiety, anger and feeling out of control;
Week 3: How to build a positive future by what we practice today;
Week 4: How to build acceptance and trust in the uncertainty of the future with open heart practices;
Week 5: How to give kindness to ourselves and to others;
Week 6: How to be present for other people in communication and relationships.
Each week will run for approx an hour. We’ll be using an Internet chatroom on the website Whereby, which is like Zoom but doesn’t require any software to download and should work from any computer or mobile device through a web browser. I will give the link to the chatroom and instructions of how to access when you sign up.
As your instructor, I will talk through a sheet on the screen and e-mail it to you afterward. After 6 weeks you’ll have 6 sheets to remind you of the course and all the practices. I’ll also give guided mindful meditations in each week to give ourselves space and ground ourselves to the present moment.It is my intention that after you’ve completed the course, you’ll have various methods of practising simple mindfulness techniques that will help you in all aspects of your life.
Cost for the entire course is £30 per person. This can be paid in weekly installments or in one go, whatever is preferred.
